Building on the foundation of science
The mental health landscape remains deeply concerning. Across all studied countries, most individuals struggling with mental health issues do not receive professional support. When help is available, it is often limited to medication, with little or no access to psychological intervention. This widespread shortfall, known as the "Treatment Gap", is well-recognized in the scientific community. Yet efforts to close this gap remain largely insufficient. Digital self-help psychological interventions could play a vital role, but they are often inaccessible, unaffordable, or technologically outdated. To truly address the treatment gap, we must innovate.
We are developing an AI-augmented digital platform designed to address a wide range of psychological difficulties. To achieve this, we will collaborate with psychologists, technical experts such as programmers and AI specialists, designers, and individuals with lived experience of psychological difficulties. We aim to create the most effective, affordable, and accessible digital mental health solution the world has ever seen.
Alexandre Lemyre holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in psychology from Université Laval in Canada. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Université de Montréal, where he specialized in the use of digital technologies for mental health. In 2025, he founded THEOR-E with one goal in mind: to change the world.
